• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Just a little help...

Been looking around for some crampons and mountain troop style canteens. None of the usual suspects seem to have them. Anybody notice them anywhere?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Okay, found some canteens.

How about those crampons? Did they come with anyone besides dear old Alfons?

Need 3 sets to complete my string......

Thanks again for any help.

At one time the retailers were almost giving them away as well as the snowshoes at prices like 50. cents a pair as well as Skis at 2 or 3 bucks a pair. I grabbed a bunch but still didn't get as many as I needed. I have been looking for more myself for my GJs but they have seemed to have dried up or the ones I did see recently were priced too high.

Thanks guys! I knew they'd show up somewhere.

I remember Set II; I picked up at least one back sometime...

Guess I'll try EBT; I've never done that one yet.

Oh, and another "hen's teeth" item; the short Mauser that came with Alfons. Any sources for that one?

There were several figures that came with the G33/40 carbine. Besides Alfons, keep an eye out for DML's Hasan Malnar or Wilhelm Engels, Cyber Hobby's Tobias Zapfel, or the BBI Afrika Korps Gebirgsjager Rudi Kessling.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any loose parts dealer with anyG33/40s in stock.

Thanks for the replies; I'm trying to snag that Alfons; he was a great, well equipped fig. I'd forgotten about Hasan. For the moment, I'll borrow his for the group I'm working. I've got Engles as well, but he's keeping his.

Perhaps a few more will show up on the parts dealers some day again.

Keep an eye on Red Planet Toys. He seems to have G33/40s from time to time. Just make sure you really want it... His shipping charges can be pretty steep, and shipments are slooooooow (orders usually take 2-8 weeks to ship after ordering). But he does seem to get rare items in stock fairly often.

SgtUSMC was trying to sell a 'Tobias Zapfel' figure here recently. It may be too late, though... He was planning to move to South Korea this week.

Thanks Rogue. I found the canteens at RPT. He can be slow and expensive for shipping, but when the need strikes.....we do what we must!
