• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Neil, from Minnesota...how ya do'n...

I was a cold war vet, after Viet Nam and before Storm, trained to kill those mean, world grab'n Russians, anyway, my dad was in North Africa and Italy but he was the guy that did'nt talk about it much so I grew up with John Wayne, bit of a differance as I learned later..

I served in the Air Force, Crash Rescue and later as a medic (Ft. Sam 91a) in the ARNG including a stint in Norway. Now I work full time [civ]EMS.

Like most I grew up with Joes and models, and when I came accross the M5 at wally world I had to have it, to me it was'nt just a toy but a piece of ww2. Imagine my surprise when I found I was'nt alone! [that would be you!] With the computer, stories and photos were at my fingertips, the good and the bad. I try not to judge but look at it as true history, trying to figure out what the hell happened and why.

ANYWAY...

I may not have all of the details of my collection down to perfection, but there is some history behind them, and the spirit of the era is there... as one man said, "There not toys...anymore..."

just a thought...
