• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

How to remove heads, arms, feet and hands?

kb466

Rifleman
I am new to all this, and am working on redoing some Dragon and DID figures. I have suddenly realized that to replace tunics, shirts, etc., I need to remove heads and arms. How is this done?... particularly without breaking something? Is there a trick to it all? Thanks!

Great links, but I think KB466 is looking for some easy instructions hot to remove heads & hands, and not for information on body modifications.

KB466, my methods dor DML bodies:
Head removal: most heads are vinyl and can be remove by holding them onder a running tap of hot water for 1 minute. That will soften the vinyl and you can pull the head of or use a small flat screwdriver to pry off the head from te neckpost.

Arms:
Don't remove the arms, they are not ment to be taken off! Instead, you can just pull off the hands by taking a firm grip on the wrist-hinge and pull the hand off.

Hope these tips help!

Good luck

Like The_Dutchman stated you just can't take the arms off. I have been in this hobby 13 years and still have a b*tch of a time getting some uniforms on and off over the shoulders you just have to take your time. I hate pull over unis. I boil a kettle of water and pour a cupful at a time dip the head or boots in for about a minute before removing them. My hot water just does not get hot enough to soften heads and boots enough to make them so they come off easily. Now DML has done several resin heads they must not be heated in hot water they will not sporing back into shape. There are rubber O rings that hold them on but they do not do a very good job of it and I have found some glued on so you have to be careful removing those. You can use these methods on just about all the manufacturers just be careful with head that have real hair or are flocked it might come off because you also soften the glue that holds that stuff on. Last be careful not to burn your self if you use boiling water.

Just a few seconds on a belt sander will get rid of some excess "he-man" shoulder and generally make unis easier to get on and off.
The average soldier, a child of the Depression, didn't get much time in the weight room to bulk up...
