Hi guys.
I'm doing a figure of the GD Division in the final stages of the war, in France (during rest and refit). Here's what I'm wondering:
From what I've read, this medal was given out for those who served on the Eastern front in the winter of '41 up until the end of April in '42 for 60 days of service in a combat zone, or by being injured.
First question: if you were injured after April of '42, were you eligible for this medal?
Second question: If the answer to #1 is no, would you have a guess as to what rank a shutze would be by 1944/45?
Third question: Would the infantry assault badge be bronze for motorized infantry since the GD was this? Would a silver badge be inappropriate?
Fourth question: The collar tabs on the uniform. I'm guessing this should be a green backing?
Thanks for the help guys!
