• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

    It’s been a long time

Welcome back. The landscape has changed a bit since then. Seems to be less of us around these days, but we do get newer members into the hobby from time to time.

Banjoman Custom Berets and One Sixth Unique Closed Up Shop

Was just cruising the various 1/6 FB Group threads that I'm part of when I stumbled across this thread asking what happened to Banjoman's Berets on eBay. Another member answered that he'd retired along with Steve from One Sixth Unique. A quick check of Steve's site confirms that his website is...

Well, that's your opinion and we agree to disagree here.

    Zhukov's Attic

It wasn't accusatory at all, but of course reading words on a forum without having a human voice behind it is pretty much problematic with forums in general and social media as a whole. One person reads it one way, another reads it another way, and then another takes it off into left field. Next...

    Zhukov's Attic

Zhukov's Attic, even although a bit pricy, has become my pretty much go-to place for hard-to-find items. Recently, however, packages have been become missing or not delivered to customers from Zhukov's Attic. In a response to their FB Page on the 18th of Jan, they pretty much stated that...

    Project - 'D-Day spearhead'

I can't recall which book it was in, but I read that when Rommell was inspecting the fortification at Ravenoville, he found them to be woefully incomplete and started dressing down the Oberleutant assigned to oversee the area. The Oberleutant complained of not having enough of men and material...

    New to 1/6th Scale WWII

I would echo both Rolling Thunder and Sixth Vanguard's advice. If you have little interest and kids don't show any you can post items here in the Crap Shoot to off load pieces. eBay is another opinion, but the nearly 14% fees will hurt after awhile. I echo the about contacting honest dealers if...

Sorry for your lost. We lost, yet, another member to our hobby.

    Project - 'Fallschirmjager'

Your set-ups for the FJs are great and makes me wish I kept my mule and packsaddle set. Nice to see a customized FJ medical bag, what piece did you use for its base. I got my hands on a reproduction one produced by Ritterwerkstatt to use a reference to try and make one or try a commission a piece.

    Hobby Can't be Dead

Is the 1/6 WWII Hobby Dead.... That is a question I've been wrestling with for the better part of five years and the whole hobby in itself. Can anyone put a finger on what was the catalyst that caused the hobby to see sufficient decline in participation over the last decade? No. But there were...

    Fields of Armor - LOCSTAT

 :@ I was lucky to get my money back. Many have not. He just disappears for a few years to let the heat die down and then reappears to fleece newcomers to the hobby before disappearing again.
